This summer, send your son or daughter to a summer camp that offers far more than the traditional Sleep-Away-Camp.
Book passage for them on sailing expedition aboard Bounty. A fully-restored, working 18th century square rigger, our beautiful, 100% seaworthy replica of one of the world's most famous ships offers a uniquely exciting Summer Camp program that gives teenagers ages 13-18 an active, hands-on look at the 'seafaring' life...and a summer they'll always remember.

The six-week Summer Camp Program aboard the Bounty is the ultimate educational opportunity. Operated by the HMS Bounty Organization LLC, this majestic vessel is dedicated to teaching the history surrounding the Golden Age of Sail, as well as the ancient maritime skills of square-rigged sailing. But a summer sailing Bounty also offers your child the one-of-a-kind chance for him or her to learn about themselves by actively participating in activities that build character and confidence through:

All the while, they'll be developing new abilities, learning the art and skill of sailing a Tall Ship, including:

Under the Guidance of Veteran Captain and Crew...
All Cadets will work side-by-side with the Bounty's experienced, U.S. Coast Guard-licensed Captain. Days begin at 0800 for colors as Cadets are broken up into watches. They'll help set and strike the sails, man the helm, prepare the riggings and keep the deck ship-shape. Watches consist of four hours on duty, followed by four off. While there will be "free time" there will also be informal classes on sail theory, navigating by the stars, seamanship and maritime history among many other subjects.
Within days your teenager will find him or herself an integral part of a finely tuned "machine", doing everything necessary to maintain and navigate a classical tall ship.
And don't be surprised if they come home singing a sea chantey or two, and telling tales of the world's most famous mutiny.

Everyone in the Bounty Organization is strongly dedicated to the education and development of today's youth. We feel this unique seafaring experience is an excellent way tot each today's young adults about the sea and the history of the maritime arts, as well as helping them prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. For the summer of 2010 & 2011 there will not be a summer camp offered. Sorry for the inconvenience.
